The French freestyle slalom was born in 1994 together with the creation of the National Comity of Acrobatic Roller. This sport has evolved during ten years to become the sport we know now.

Freestyle slalom is :

3 parallel lines composed by 20 cups for each line. In every line the distance between the cups is different:

First line: 50 cm between each cup
Second line: 80 cm between each cup
Third line: 120 cm between each cup

The skater must perform figures between the cups in the 90 second interval, passing in the empty spaces between all the cups and with music.

There are 4 judges for 4 criteria: Technical - Style - Managment - Penalities

Technical:

To get a good mark in this part, you have to do as many figures as possible, each figure on 4 cups, and skate as fast as possible during the 90 secondes.

Style:

To have a good mark in this part, you have to show stability and facility to perform figures and transitions from figure to figure during the 90 secondes. Bonus like blocks and dedicaces are taken into account by this judge.

Managment:

You have to show your ability of performing tricks of the big family: sitting tricks, jumped tricks, one wheels tricks, eagle tricks, reversed tricks. The rythm is also considered here (coordination and variety of the rythm).

Penalities:

this judge takes into account the fallen cups, the missed cups, the falls and the stopwatch.

Definition:

Speed Slalom is :

2 parallel lines composed by 20 cups for each line. The distance betweeen each cup is 80 cm.

A skater challenge another one in two parallel lines of cups. The fastest one is the winner.

For each fallen or missed cup, 0,2 seconds are added to the final time.

At the present time the best trick for speed slalom is the one foot because it allows the skater to be faster then in any other trick.

The best time is below 5 secondes.
